For each new subscriber you
refer to MLCNet, you receive one month's service free! MLCNet has grown thanks to you - our loyal subscribers. To show
our appreciation, we award you a usage credit for each new subscriber you refer to MLCNet
- up to $26 per subscriber (or $35 per Domain Hosting client.) Just make sure your
friends tell us that you sent them when they call to subscribe. You'll see your
Referral Bonus on your next MLCNet statement. |
The MLCNet Referral Bonus Program is
subject to the following Rules and Restrictions:
- The Referral Bonus is calculated based on the
lowest dollar amount of either,
a) the monthly Internet service rate for the new
subscriber, or
b) your total current monthly Internet service rate at the
time of the referral.
Since any Referral Bonus credits already being applied to
your MLCNet account at the time of the referral would reduce your potential Referral Bonus
(by lowering your total current monthly rate), they are ignored for the purpose of this
calculation.
Examples: If a dedicated analog
subscriber ($85 per month) refers a new dial-up analog subscriber ($17 per month), the
Referral Bonus is $17. If a Shotgun service subscriber ($26 per month) who is currently
receiving $9 per month in other Referral Bonus credits (making the total current monthly
rate $17 per month), refers a new Shotgun service subscriber ($26 per month), the Referral
Bonus is $26 (because existing Referral Bonus credits are ignored in the calculation.)
- The Referral Bonus is awarded as a credit on
your MLCNet statement on an installment basis. One sixth of the Referral Bonus is credited
each month for six consecutive months. If the new subscriber cancels service at any time
prior to the final installment, your Referral Bonus installments for that new subscriber
will cease.
- Referral Bonus credits are cumulative, and are
added together when awarded - up to the full amount of your MLCNet Internet service. In
the event that your total Referral Bonus credits are greater than the amount your MLCNet
Internet service, then any excess Referral Bonus credits are "banked", and are
awarded as soon any existing credits expire and a balance again becomes due for your
Internet service.
- It is your responsibility to make sure that
the new subscriber identifies you as the person who referred them to MLCNet. MLCNet will
not award any Referral Bonus retroactively because the new subscriber failed to identify
the MLCNet subscriber that referred them.
- Regardless of the classes of service involved,
in no event will the Referral Bonus for any one referral be higher than the current rate
for Shotgun or Dual-Analog dial-up service (currently $26 per month), or, for Domain
Hosting referrals, the current base rate for Domain Hosting services (currently $35 per
month.)
- Referral Bonus credits cannot be sold, traded
or transferred, and can only be applied to the account of the subscriber who has earned
the Referral Bonus. Referral Bonus credits apply only to current Internet service
charges, and cannot be applied retroactively to any MLCNet charges that are in
arrears. Referral Bonus credits cannot be applied to any merchandise or services
other than Internet service within your current class of service.
- The Referral Bonus has no cash value, and
under no circumstance will cash, or any item of value, be exchanged or paid in lieu of
credit awarded against your MLCNet Internet service. Referral Bonus credits will only
be applied to regular MLCNet Internet service, and cannot be used for any other purpose.
If you cancel service prior to all Referral Bonus credits being awarded, any current or
"banked" Referral Bonus credits immediately cease to be payable. In the
unlikely event that MLCNet should cease to provide service in your service class, any
current or "banked" Referral Bonus credits immediately cease to be payable, and
MLCNet has no liability or obligation to reimburse any subscriber for any Referral Bonus
credits on account.
- MLCNet reserves the right to refuse to award
any Referral Bonus where, in the sole opinion of MLCNet management, any type of abuse, or
potential abuse, of this program is evident. This includes, but is not limited to:
a) Making referrals where the new subscriber does not
actually access the account.
b) Making a significant number of referrals where the new
subscriber cancels their subscription prior to the time the entire Referral Bonus has been
awarded to your account.
c) Making a significant number of referrals where the new
subscriber cancels their subscription with their account in arrears.
- MLCNet reserves the right to change or
terminate this program at any time. In that event, however, MLCNet will honor any
outstanding Referral Bonus credits that any subscriber has on account at the time of
change or termination, limited only by the restrictions outlined above.
